Per pitcher Luke Farrell, pitcher Luke Farrell has signed with the Chicago Cubs.
Happy to sign back with the @Cubs organization! Ready to get to work!

Farrell, 30, pitched with the Cubs in 2018, showing great stuff at times, but little in the way of results. He wound up with the Rangers the next two seasons, and then the Twins last year. Not unlike a number of hitters we’ve come to know, Farrell has reached that point in his career where he can pretty clearly pitch very well at Triple-A, but hasn’t quite been able to get over the hump in the big leagues.
For the Cubs, Farrell is an opportunity to keep working on his relief conversion (which actually started with the Cubs in 2018), and see if the command can improve enough to make a solid bullpen option out of him. I like the signing, which is assuredly a minor league deal, because there’s familiarity and quality stuff there. Take as many of these kinds of shots as you can, and a handful will work out.
