Matt Swarmer alternated whiffs and rockets, which is to say he’s getting closer to the results you would expect from a two-pitch pitcher with a really good slider and an average fastball. In short bursts, where the fastball plays up and he can lean even more heavily on the slider, you can see a big league pitcher. Middle relief at least. As a starter, well, the last few outings have made it pretty hard to see.
