We have seen “steals” of home before. Recently, even. But they have tended to be the type where there’s another runner on base, and an ill-advised throw, and then a runner at third taking advantage.
What Cubs infield prospect James Triantos just did, however, was simply a straight up steal of home on a pitcher and catcher who fell asleep.
This is awesome:
Don’t sleep with James Triantos on the bases, apparently. He’ll feast on ya.
