This is just madness. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a second baseman CLOTHESLINE a batter as he rounded the bases on a home run.
Former long-time big leaguer Asdrubal Cabrera is playing in the Venezuelan Winter League this year, and tonight he went off. Not the good kind.
Cabrera seemed to take issue with Carlos Castro’s third homer of the game and his VERY pronounced trot and batflip. But that’s no excuse for Cabrera did:
Luego de que Castro conectara su TERCER cuadrangular del juego sucedió en esto.

Totally blindsided the guy and laid him out. Castro was down for a while, and Cabrera gave the arms out “what” expression. Yeesh.
Another view:
Former MLB player Asdrubal Cabrera just KO a runner who well enjoyed his homerun. This Is the issue and what usually happens. @mlbfights pic.twitter.com/l9ubMoNqyP— Guillens Baseball (@GuillensWorld) November 20, 2022
I wonder if that’ll be it for Asdrubal Cabrera’s winter league season. Hopefully Castro is OK after that. He’s just a 26-year-old dude splitting his time between independent ball in the States and the pro league in Venezuela. Guy just wants to make a living.
