Cubs vs Diamondbacks – Cubs Lineup, Pitching Matchup, How to Watch, More
We’ve got a battle of the veteran lefties this afternoon, with Drew Smyly and the Cubs taking on Madison Bumgarner and the Diamondbacks. Here’s the Cubs lineup for Thursday at Sloan Park.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:

- Ian Happ, LF
- Dansby Swanson, SS
- Trey Mancini, RF
- Cody Bellinger, CF
- Eric Hosmer, 1B
- Patrick Wisdom, 3B
- Yan Gomes, C
- Chris Morel, DH
Back to the A-squad lineup this afternoon against the Arizona Diamondbacks, with maybe the lone exception being Chris Morel in there as DH. I’m still not certain Morel makes the team out of camp, he’s got options and develpoment left, but we’ll see him plenty this year. I’m sure of it.
Eric Hosmer is also in there against the left-handed Madison Bumgarner. Hopefully, just a spring thing. Probably not. Probably going to be a nightmare April for us all watching Hosmer with Mervis raking in Iowa. I’m pre-stressed.
Other than that, yeah, same order as usual. The normal (sans Suzuki) lineup seems pretty close to set.
