Chicago Cubs outfield prospect Kevin Alcántara just had himself a NIGHT. The funnest kind you can have.
In the bottom of the 9th, with his South Bend Cubs down a run, Alcántara hit a 109 mph laser out to left field to tie the game:
Then, in the 10th inning, with his team down a run and a couple runners on base, Alcántara sent one up the middle for a walk-off single:
I love Alcántara’s energy throughout these games, which he plays like they’re all the 7th game of the World Series. This is his first time playing in the cold weather part of the country in the early part of a season, too, so I think the numbers are about to really start to pick up.
