Bryce Harper and the Phillies Get Into a Rumble with the Rockies
Boys, boys, boys. Your mothers aren’t going to like this today!
Nearing the end of a frustrating day in Colorado, the Philadelphia Phillies were perhaps primed for an outburst. So when Rockies pitcher Jake Bird started – or responded – some jawing at the end of the 7th inning, and very demonstratively clapped in celebration toward the Phillies dugout, Bryce Harper snapped.
Harper, and later Kyle Schwarber, had to be held back by teammates:
You gotta be careful with that surgically-reconstructed elbow, Bryce!
Perhaps the best part of dust-up was something Harper SEEMED to say amidst the back-and-forth. Warning, language.
