As an organization, the St. Louis Cardinals are simply not prepared to handle dramatic failure. That’s not even an insult – obviously! – but it’s definitely noticeable that they are cracking at the seams.
Shortly after Willson Contreras, their big offseason signing, talked about having lost his confidence, the Cardinals went out and got stomped by the Giants for their fourth straight loss. The Cardinals, who were expected to be the cream of the NL Central this year, have the worst record in the National League. It’s not a spot where they have as much practice as as some other NL Central organizations.
