Look. If the shoe were on the other foot, there’s no question I would feel burned. And bitter. And maybe downright hostile.
But the shoe is on the Cubs’ foot, and it’s new manager Craig Counsell, who spurned his long-time Brewers to take a juicier contract with the Cubs. The Brewers are bummed about it, and I’m sorry, this is hilarious:
To put it another way, Attanasio can’t imagine a manager wanting to go somewhere else:
So, not betrayed, but he can’t understand the decision. OK. Fine by me.
I’m just glad that the Cubs put the Big Market pedal down, and made this deal happen. I’m sure Counsell was happy with the Brewers and we know the Brewers were happy with him, so it was going to take a huge offer to get him to turn his head. The Cubs did that, and now the Brewers are bumming. I get it. But it’s funny to me.
