The Iowa Cubs lost both games of today’s doubleheader against the Buffalo Bisons. In the first game, despite tying the score at 3-3 in the third inning, Buffalo secured a 5-3 win. In the second game, Buffalo dominated with a 10-3 victory, fueled by a six-run fourth inning. Iowa struggled with 10 walks issued, marking their highest this season.

Double-A Tennessee Smokies (10-7)
Tennessee starter Matthew Thompson struggled today after an impressive outing last week, giving up three runs on two hits and five walks while striking out five in five innings of work for the Smokies in a 6-3 loss to the Rocket City Trash Pandas. Walks plagued Thompson, a common barrier for him in his development trajectory with the White Sox. Haydn McGeary hit his second home run of the season for the Smokies in the losing effort.

Low-A Myrtle Beach Pelicans (6-11)
The Myrtle Beach Pelicans were held hitless until the eighth inning in their 3-0 loss to the Lynchburg Hillcats, ending their three-game winning streak and bringing their record to 6-11. Chris Paciolla broke the no-hitter with a double in the eighth, while Drew Bowser added another hit in the ninth. Starter Luis Rujano took the loss, giving up two runs (one earned) in his first start of the season.
