Triple-A Iowa Cubs
The Iowa Cubs dropped their series finale against the Storm Chasers on Sunday, capping off a sweep for Ohama over Iowa. Despite a decent performance from starting pitcher Dan Straily, who allowed three runs over five innings, Iowa couldn’t secure the win. Iowa’s bullpen held Omaha hitless and scoreless after Straily’s exit but issued six walks collectively.
Right fielder David Peralta managed to hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap. Darius Hill and Jake Slaughter contributed with two hits each, including Slaughter’s RBI single in the eighth inning, but Iowa’s offense was limited to just five hits overall.

Double-A Tennessee Smokies
The Tennessee Smokies secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Biloxi Shuckers on Sunday. The Shuckers managed only one hit throughout the game, a double in the first inning, as Tennessee’s pitching staff combined for a stellar one-hitter. Despite issuing eight walks collectively, the Smokies’ pitchers, including Blake Whitney, Cayne Ueckert, Jake Reindl, Zac Leigh, and Frankie Scalzo Jr., kept the Shuckers’ offense at bay.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the ninth when Luis Verdugo doubled with one out, advancing to third on a single by Haydn McGeary. Hayden Cantrelle then delivered a walk-off single to secure the win for the Smokies. Verdugo and McGeary both had two hits, while Moises Ballesteros continued his strong hitting performance, going 2-for-4 and raising his batting average to .353 on the season.

High-A South Bend Cubs

Despite Schlaffer’s difficulties, Aaron Perry made an impressive Cubs organization debut with two innings of scoreless relief, although he conceded three hits and a walk.

Stevens finished the game 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored.
