I have always been a sucker for Giancarlo Stanton home runs, given their uniquely incredible nature.
If you are at all like me, then, you’ll very much enjoy his latest feat. It was the hardest hit ball of the year, and it looked EVERY BIT like the hardest hit ball of the year:
119.9 mph Blast.

LOOK AT THAT THING. WATCH IT AGAIN. He just explodes. And then the ball explodes off the bat.
That was 119.9 mph off the bat for Stanton – round up! – and even though it was only 20 degrees, the ball STILL went 447 feet. That’s the kind of thing that should not be possible, but Stanton has made a career of, among other things, hitting impossible home runs.
Speaking of which, that home run was Stanton’s 47th(!) over 115 mph, which yes is obviously the most in the Statcast Era.
Fun fact, the guy who had the hardest hit homer of the year before Stanton’s 119.9 mph blast? Yeah, it was also Stanton. Which he’d hit at 118.8 mph:
118.8 mph. 421 ft.
