Summit League Tournament Preview: Odds, Schedule, Information & Predictions
All time horrible logo, no notes, just needs to go. Anyways, here’s the 2023 Summit League Tournament.
When is the Summit League Tournament?
Starts with the play-in games on Friday, March 3rd and finishes up Tuesday March 7th.
Where is the Summit League Tournament played?
Denny Sanford Premier Center in beautiful Sioux Falls, SD, home of the Sioux Falls Storm of the IFL.
How to watch
Best bet would be to head to Sioux Falls, but it’s also on ESPN+ for the first three rounds with the final on ESPN2 next Tuesday.
Who won the regular season title?
Oral Roberts lapped the field here. They finished with the only undefeated conference season in the country this year at 18-0.
Defending Champ
SDSU (also the defending FCS football champs, kind of a powerhouse I guess).
Who will participate
Everyone. All ten teams will be playing for a shot at the dance.
How Many teams will the Summit League send to the tournament?
Just one and most likely just Oral Roberts.
Summit League Tournament Bracket
The one weird part of the Summit tourney is the continued insistence on splitting the quarterfinals into two days. This will give the top two seeds an extra day of rest before Monday’s semis.
Summit League Tournament Odds
The team that hasn’t lost to any other teams on this list all year is the favorite.
Summit League Tournament Preview
I came into this wanting to make a case for the Jackrabbits as a sneaky #2, but all the arguments fall flat in the face of the juggernaut in ahead of them. SDSU played a very tough non-con schedule and have a nice win over Boise State, but Oral Roberts did too and have a nice win over Liberty. Plus they beat the Jacks by 39 to open Summit League play and rank ahead of them in a multitude of metrics on both sides of the ball.
Led by Max Abmas, who we got to know and love after their run in 2021, the Golden Eagles also have a freakishly larger transfer in the middle in Connor Vanover. The 7 foot 5 senior averages 12 and 7 a game while also being a sneaky good 3 point shooter (the whole team is).
I’m throwing my hands up on this one and going the route I did with Liberty. If you don’t want to bet Oral Roberts, maybe just skip this league.
