2024 Indy 500
When is The 2024 Indianapolis 500?
The 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 26th. The green flag will drop at approximately 12:45 PM ET from Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 500-mile-long race at The Brickyard.
What Channel is the race on?
NBC is home to the race with Peacock offering a concurrent stream of the race as well. Most cable and satellite TV providers offer NBC with another option being FuboTV which is a streaming service offering LIVE TV including NBC and other sports channels. 2024 Indy 500 Schedule
The 2024 Indy 500 festivities kicked off on May 14th and culminate in the main event today, Sunday, May 26th. However, plenty of action has taken place leading up to the race, including practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and special events like the Pit Stop Competition and the Festival Parade. Here is a brief breakdown of the race weekend schedule.
How Long Is The Race?
As the race name indicates, the Indy 500 is 500 miles in distance. Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a 2.5-mile quad oval making the race a total of 200 laps.
Who is Racing This Year?
All the best IndyCar drivers are in this year’s race, including the defending champ, Josef Newgarden who’ll be starting 3rd on the Indy 500 Lineup. Adding even more intrigue to this season’s event is the participation of top NASCAR driver Kyle Larson. He’ll race in Indianapolis then immediately fly to Charlotte for the Coca-Cola 600 marking the first time since Kurt Busch in 2014 that a driver attempted the “Double” on Memorial Day Weekend.
