The Miami Dolphins have a first-round pick for the first time in three seasons and should have plenty of interesting options with the 21st overall selection. Miami boasts six total picks in this year’s draft. Here’s a look at their picks throughout the 2024 NFL Draft.
Notes: The Dolphins forfeited their third-round pick and a first-rounder last year for violating the league’s tampering rules. Miami’s fourth-round selection(120) went to the Denver Broncos as part of the 2022 trade for OLB Bradley Chubb.

Who Will the Dolphins Pick in the First Round
Miami has several holes to fill with this first selection, including guard, tackle, edge rusher, wide receiver, and safety. Some are more desperate needs and others can possibly be filled later on in the draft. Assuming no trades up or down, here are a few names mocked to the Dolphins with their first-round pick.

Offensive Linemen Mocked to Miami Dolphins at Pick 21
Jackson Powers-Johnson (C/G), Oregon – The Dolphins’ o-line needs several boosts and Powers-Johnson has the skill set to move the needle right away.
Graham Barton (C), Duke – Barton lined up both at center and left tackle for Duke and offers versatility as a blocker which should translate well to the NFL.
Olumuyiwa Fashanu (T), Penn State – Injuries have been a problem with the Miami Dolphins pass rush and Fashanu offers some o-line depth to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Defensive Players Mocked to Miami Dolphins at Pick 21
Byron Murphy II (DT), Texas – With Christian Wilkins lost to the Raiders in free agency, they may need to replace his output. Murphy is an athletically talented defensive tackle who gets off the ball quickly and moves like a man of smaller stature.
Cooper DeJean (DB), Iowa – The Dolphins have a new-look secondary for 2024 but could use another talented body. DeJean would add youth and versatility to their cornerback room.
Offensive Skill Players Mocked to the Miami Dolphins at Pick 21
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR), LSU – Why not bring in another weapon for Tagovailoa? Thomas brings some size (6’3″, 209 lbs) without sacrificing speed, as he ran a 4.33 in the 40-yard dash.
Michael Penix Jr. (QB), Washington – Tagovailoa may not be the future for Mike McDaniels in Miami and Penix fits more with what they have going on. A vertical, accurate passer, the former Husky paired with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle could be a beautiful thing.
