The New York Jets are sitting with the number 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Take a look at our latest mock draft as we break down who New York will take in rounds 1 and 3 later this month.
2024 Mock Draft: Jets Selection at No. 10 Overall
New York needs to add depth and talent on the offensive line to protect Aaron Rodgers as he returns from injury.
Round 1, Pick 10: Taliese Fuaga – OT (Oregon State)
Taliese Fuaga‘s versatility would be a huge addition to a Jets offensive line that added Tyron Smith in the offseason. Fuaga can play guard or tackle which provides much-needed depth for the Jets in 2024. The Jets have seen how injuries can decimate a team and ruin a season. Having Fuaga in the mix gives the offensive line a strong option at guard or tackle.
More Options for Jets in Round 1
If the Jets don’t address the offensive line at number 10 we could see them attack a weapon for Aaron Rodgers. Tight end Brock Bowers from Georgia would be a great fit. Bowers is the best tight end in the 2024 NFL Draft class and has exceptional after-the-catch ability. An athletic tight end with Aaron Rodgers could be dangerous.
Jets Mock Draft Rounds 2-3
New York is without a second-round pick so they will have to wait until round three unless they make a trade. We see them adding a weapon on the outside if they are able to go offensive line in the first round.
Round 3, Pick 72: Devontez Walker – WR (UNC)
Devontez Walker could slide into the third round and could be a great value pick for the Jets who already addressed a need on the offensive line in round 1. Walker showed off great speed and explosion at the combine which would make him a great compliment to Garrett Wilson as the Jets hope to build weapons around Aaron Rodgers for a deep playoff run.
Will NYJ Make a Trade?
The Jets have no selections from 10 until 72 in this year’s draft. This is not ideal as there will be several talented players available during this stretch to add depth at much-needed positions. If the Jets were to make a trade and move down in the draft, a team looking for a quarterback might be a solid target to acquire a few more draft picks to help the Jets add depth in the late first round along with the second round.
Potential Trade: NYJ Trades No. 10 to LVR for 13 and 44
If a top quarterback is still available at number 10, the Las Vegas Raiders are a team that would definitely move up to get a franchise QB. They could trade picks number 13 and 44 to score the 10th overall selection.
How would this impact the Jets’ draft strategy? New York could then take Brock Bowers in the first round at number 13 before addressing the offensive line in the second round with a player like Kiran Amegadjie from Yale.
How Many Quarterbacks Go in the Top 5?
The focus of this draft remains on the quarterback position. While NYJ isn’t looking for a quarterback in round 1, the picks made in the top 5 could have a significant impact on whether or not a trade is available at number 10.
There is the potential we could see four quarterbacks go in the first 5 picks. Rumors of Minnesota moving up to number 4 means they are looking for a signal caller. We could see the first four picks go as follows.
