The 2024 NFL Draft looms large for the Tennessee Titans as it’s a completely new era in the Music City. They have a new head coach, a new week 1 starting quarterback, and Derrick “King” Henry has left via free agency. With the 7th overall pick and several key needs, the upcoming draft is critical to their hopes of bolstering the roster and propelling the team back into contention. Let’s quickly examine their top 5 NFL Draft priorities.
Tennessee Titans Positions to Address in the NFL Draft
The Titans have begun their roster reconstruction with numerous additions in free agency and through trade. But more is needed if they hope to compete with division favorites Houston. Here, we explore the Titans’ top 5 priorities for the 2024 NFL Draft, presenting the positions demanding the most immediate attention in the Music City.
Offensive Tackle
Protecting Will Levis is paramount, and that’s something the Titans’ offensive line didn’t do last season. They finished with the 2nd worst pass-blocking grade as a group and have really struggled to find a replacement for Taylor Lewan at left tackle. Finding a reliable blindside protector, likely Joe Alt if you’ve been keeping up with the many NFL Mock Drafts out there, should be their number one priority.
Edge Rusher
The Titans’ pass rush could use an upgrade. While Harold Landry is still a force, and Jeffery Simmons continues to wreak havoc inside, Tennessee still finished tied with the 27th-best pressure percentage. Adding a young, explosive edge rusher that can take pressure off Landry and Simmons should be atop their needs list for the upcoming NFL Draft

Defensive Line
Following up on their need for an additional edge rusher, Tennessee needs to improve the production from the depth players on the defensive line. They’re also light at this position since 2023 sack leader Denico Autry joined their AFC South rival Houston in free agency.
Tight End
Chigoziem Okonkwo didn’t have the sophomore season we expected. Tennessee’s absolutely terrible offense likely stunted his progression and he’s not exactly the best blocker which allowed teams to key on his presence. Adding another multi-faceted option at tight end would go a long way in improving Chiggy’s performance and the team’s offense.
Safety
Amani Hooker is coming off the best season of his career but for the third consecutive season, he missed four or more games. Which, added to the trade of Kevin Byard, hampered Tennessee’s defensive backfield tremendously. Outside of Amani Hooker, the Titans’ three other returning safeties started a combined 5 games last season. They need to fill Byard’s spot, and quickly, if they hope to compete in the newly competitive AFC South.
