After winning the first three games of the Western Conference Final, the Vegas Golden Knights couldn’t close the deal and clinch a second trip to the Stanley Cup Final in the six-year existence of the franchise. On Monday night, they sent Dallas to the golf courses.
A resounding 6-0 win, led by two goals from William Karlsson, ended the Stars’ season. The Golden Knights will now face the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final, meaning one franchise will lift the Stanley Cup for the first time this year.
Dallas got captain Jamie Benn back from his two-game suspension. The Stars won both games with him out of the lineup. They lost all four games in the series when he was dressed. Benn finished Game 6 minus-two.
We’ll have to wait until Saturday night for the Stanley Cup Final to begin in Vegas. The Florida Panthers can enjoy the sports scene being exceptionally hyped right now; the Miami Heat won Game 7 of their series against the Boston Celtics, meaning two 8 seeds from south Florida are now playing for a championship in the coming weeks.
