Technically it’s another comeback win!
After giving up a two-run homer in the first, Kyle Hendricks managed to keep the Padres scoreless for the next four innings, though he was not especially economical in doing so. You’ll take it, but hopefully he continues to improve after this one (and his start in San Francisco, which was stellar).
The Cubs ‘offense wound up exploding in the middle and late innings. Each of Ian Happ, Kyle Schwarber, and Javy Baez homered, and the Cubs won this one with ease.
