Less Than A Month Until the First Preseason Game(!) and Other Bulls Bullets

I have football fatigue, so good thing I write about basketball.

With college football and the NFL back on my television every weekend, I’ve quickly become immobile. My weekend was full of minimal movement and maximum chips. Thank goodness I have a couple of days to cool off before – wait, there’s two Monday night games tonight? And I have three fantasy players in them? *opens a bag of chips.*

  • The Bulls posted this two days ago, so you know what that means?? We are now UNDER one month away from the first preseason game! Woohoo!!!

  • I just thought I’d point this out … there were multiple Kris Dunn highlights included in this package. I’m not sure if that means the Bulls have come around to the idea of Dunn being a serviceable piece in the rotation this year OR the team trying to give the man some exposure *wink-wink.* Hopefully, we’ll start to get our answer, when training camp tips-off on Oct. 1.

  • With Tomas Satoransky currently on fire at the FIBA World Cup, it’s hard to imagine the Bulls haven’t already penciled him in as the starting point guard. I mean, it already felt like a decently safe assumption when the team acquired him this offseason, but now that he’s been dishing out the ball overseas as well as anyone out there, well … let’s just say he looks more than capable of becoming the Bulls facilitator this year.
  • Satoransky (basically) single-handedly carried the Czech Republic into the quarterfinals.

  • Here’s the typical “Satoransky almost getting a triple-double” highlight package.

  • Also, the other storyline to watch at training camp will be how the wing depth shapes up. With Denzel Valentine’s health being completely up in the air and Chandler Hutchison suffering a hamstring injury, we’ll have to watch closely to see if the Bulls try anything new at the position. Not to mention, the back-up center position will be one to watch as well. All the options behind Wendell Carter Jr., who’s suffered his own injury setbacks, are incredibly young.
  • ICYMI: The Bulls released Antonio Blakeney this weekend:
  • The Athletic’s Darnell Mayberry commented on what this means for the current Bulls roster. The team is now down to 15 guys, which, theoretically, means the roster is set. However, with the plethora of point guards and lack of wing depth, a move to add someone at the position wouldn’t be shocking. Also, the team has one more opening for a two-way contract (Adam Mokoka currently holds the first).
  • The NBA usually makes the right call with its bans, this is not one of those times.
  • If Wendell Carter Jr. is all smiles then so am I (also, please let this be a statement season).

  • We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you this utter lunacy from the WNBA referees:
  • Fortunately for the Sky, the WNBA reviewed the call after the game and determined it was the wrong more. The technical foul and ejection were rescinded.
  • LOL, MJ was a cheat code.

  • Yeah, well I bet Zach LaVine would have caught that behind his back while in mid-air and then dunked it.
