The third round of All-Star fan voting has been released, and the Chicago Bulls’ two backcourt stars remain locked into the same positions.
DeMar DeRozan currently has the third-highest tally in the Eastern Conference and leads all guards with 4,121,034 votes. Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young sits behind him with 2,147,111, failing to gain any ground on DeRozan’s first-place spot over the past couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the same can be said about Zach LaVine’s pursuit to pass Young. The Bulls shooting guard continues to sit in third with 1,988,452 votes, leaving him with a 158,659 gap to try to make up before fan voting closes on January 22nd.
LeBron James now leads the NBA in the latest fan returns for NBA All-Star Voting presented by Tissot, which concludes this Saturday, Jan. 22.

Remember, the starting lineup selection process places 50 percent of the final decision on fan voting and 50 percent on the votes cast by players and media members. In other words, the top two guards to finish in fan voting have a pretty good chance at earning the starting nod. Then, when it’s time to select reserves, NBA head coaches will hold all the power.
