Looks like yesterday’s day off didn’t produce any rust for Kris Bryant (or the other Cubs’ bats so far).
The reigning MVP has already gone deep twice in today’s game at Wrigley Field against the Brewers. First, he sent one way out to right, and then he yanked one to left (and note the clever weather-related troll in the Cubs’ tweet):

Today's forecast:

That oppo shot was crushed, going out at 108 mph and traveling 432 feet. The second one didn’t get out by much, but Bryant did hit it 103 mph.
The dingers were Bryant’s 9th and 10th on the year, putting him four behind the (now-injured) NL leader, Freddie Freeman. Bryant’s line is up to .303/.404/.587, with a 157 wRC+ (eight points higher than last year).
As the weather continues to warm up, Bryant figures to send more and more balls into orbit.
