Last week we looked at some key dates on the NHL calendar for Blackhawks fans to circle between now and the start of the 2024-25 season. On Monday afternoon, the Hawks announced three more of their own.
* Reminder – this year’s development camp will be off-ice like last year’s camp.
* The Tom Kurvers Rookie Showcase featured the Blackhawks, Blues and Wild last year in Minnesota
This year’s rookie camp and training camp will include at least two players who hadn’t participated previously: Frank Nazar and Landon Slaggert. Both played college hockey and weren’t available for those events before.
It’s also an exciting year for the Blackhawks’ rookie and training camps because of the number of recent draft picks who are turning pro this year. Gavin Hayes, Paul Ludwinski and Samuel Savoie will be in the organization full-time next season. Nick Lardis has signed his entry-level contract and saw some action during the camps last season but he is likely to return to junior. Add to those players other junior players who have already been drafted and the Blackhawks’ 2024 draft class and this will be an exciting fall at Fifth Third Arena.
