Watch Leonard Floyd’s Sack, Safety Put The Bears on the Scoreboard

Chicago Bears

On a night where Mitch Trubisky makes his first NFL start, it’s the defense that puts the first points on the board:

Leonard Floyd’s second sack of the season resulted in the first points of the Trubisky era. With the Vikings facing a 3rd-and-15 situation in the shadow of their own goal posts, quarterback Sam Bradford dropped back and rolled left but couldn’t find an open teammate down the field. Bradford had more than five seconds to find an open teammate, which gave Floyd ample time to beat right tackle Mike Remmers and bring down Bradford in the end zone.

We’ve been waiting for Floyd to find his footing as a pass rusher, and for the second straight week, the second-year edge rusher from Georgia has come up with a big play on the quarterback. He’ll need to do more of that, especially with Willie Young out for the year with a triceps injury.
