There It Is! Jordan Howard Named FedEx Ground Player of the Week
Jordan Howard’s hard work in Week 17 paid off:
Your fan votes helped Howard win the coveted FedEx Ground Player of the Week award for the final week of the regular season. Howard joins Mitch Trubisky as a FedEx award winner. Remember, Trubisky won *TWO* Air Player of the Week awards earlier this season. Oh, how I love democracy!
In addition to the award, FedEx donates $2,000 to the United Services Organizations in Howard’s name. Good stuff all around.
Howard was given 21 carries and made the most of the increased work load by gaining 109 rushing yards and scoring two touchdowns in a 24-10 win against the Minnesota Vikings. It was Howard’s second 100-yard rushing game, but it’s the latest strong showing in an encouraging trend of solid late-season play from the two-time 1,000-yard rusher. Because there’s nothing like going into the postseason running hard after building a late-season lather while putting your earlier struggles in the rear-view mirror.
So even though Howard will finish short of reaching 1,000 rushing yards for the first time in his career, at least his 2018 regular season has ended on a high note. And that’s saying nothing of what could be on the horizon for Howard, who will play in his first playoff game as a pro. Here’s to more awards coming his way this January and February.
