I got a kick thinking about the Chicago Bears making NFL history by becoming the first team to make the postseason as the No. 7 seed.
And then I realized the real historic moment is that they’ll be in the first ever NFL playoff game on Nickelodeon.
It’s the Bears and New Orleans Saints on Sunday, January 10 at 3:40 p.m. CT from the Superdome in the Big Easy. You can watch the game on CBS, Amazon Prime, and Nickelodeon. Yes, THAT Nickelodeon. Remember that they’re doing the Nickelodeon game thing? Yeah, that’ll be the Bears now, what with the slime and SpongeBob and Mitchell Trubisky having to make his way through the Hidden Temple or whatever.
SpongeBob, Slime, and Googly Eyes, @NFLonCBS and @Nickelodeon will present the NFL like you’ve NEVER seen it before on Wild Card Weekend.

To some, it’s of no concern that the Bears-Saints game is on a children’s network. But for the league — and football in general — it’s an opportunity to have fun, do something outside the box, and maybe have a laugh or two along the way. And if Drew Brees slips on some slime at some point and throws a pick, so be it. Oh, and again, you don’t *have* to watch the Nickelodeon version of the broadcast.
But also, the most important thing to come from the league’s Super Wild Card Weekend schedule release is that Bears and Saints are playing on Sunday, and not Saturday. And here’s why:
Playoff note: The #Saints play the #Bears next Sunday at 3:40 pm. That means RB Alvin Kamara has a chance to play, if cleared off the COVID-19 reserve list.

Of course the Saints playoff game is on Sunday. This gives New Orleans enough time to get running back Alvin Kamara cleared through COVID-19 protocols and off the reserve list. Well, that’s certainly convenient.
The Saints and Bears squared off earlier this season, with New Orleans securing an overtime win at Soldier Field. That contest was more remembered for Javon Wims punching CJ Gardner-Johnson while wearing his helmet, getting ejected, and the Bears subsequently collapsing after that moment. So in a way, there’s a revenge game on the horizon for Wims and company. Just don’t go about it by engaging in extra-curricular that can result in a penalty and ejection. Hurting your team is as selfish as hitting someone wearing a helmet is painful. Just saying.
Anyway, here’s your Wild-Card Weekend schedule in its entirety:

A double-header of triple-header action. And it includes the Bears. Count me in!
