If the Chicago Bears are going to upgrade in their secondary, they’ll need to look beyond a cornerback who was thought to be a possible signing.
And on top of that, the player the team reportedly kicked tires on is headed to a division rival:
The #Vikings have agreed to terms with CB Bashaud Breeland, most recently of the #Chiefs.

The Minnesota Vikings and Bashaud Breeland have come to an agreement on a deal, per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport. Breeland spent the last two years with the Kansas City Chiefs, including their Super Bowl winner. The Bears had interest in signing Breeland, but it turns out the Vikings were interested enough to hand over a contract.
So, not only does Breeland sign with a rival, he does so and makes their cornerback room deep. And kinda good. Breeland joins Patrick Peterson and 2020 draft pick Cameron Dantzler. That’s not a bad trio if you ask me. It’s back to the drawing board for the Bears, who still could use some depth in the defensive backfield.
