It’s good that Lupe Fiasco was born and raised in Chicago because, with the forecast expected this weekend, performing a live halftime show at Soldier Field on the lakefront will be no easy task, especially for an out-of-towner.
The Bears announced on Thursday that the native record maker who broke onto the scene with his smash album ‘Lupe’s Food & Liquor’ in 2006 and has been a mainstay in the hip hop and rap scene since, will perform the halftime show during the Bears and Bills Christmas Eve matchup this weekend.
Here it from Lupe himself on the Bears Twitter this afternoon:
I love me some Lupe Fiasco, but I’m not sure even a free halftime concert could get me down to Soldier Field with temps expected to be well below freezing with the wind chill factored in. For the brave souls making the trip, enjoy, it might be the best part of the game.
Well, second best maybe, Justin Fields is playing!
