In an interview with GQ Magazine’s sports department, Megan Armstrong chops it up with Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson on a variety of topics. Most notably, for me, topics such as sex addiction, dealing with trauma, and therapy pop up. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with this in terms of a re-share, but I found it fascinating enough to share at the top of a Monday set of Bullets.
As someone who has seen how important therapy can be over the last 400 days, I won’t hesitate to share stories like Jaylon’s because if it can help someone like him or me, it can probably help someone else who is reading this post. And if I can reach someone who needs it, I’ll take that as a win.
The rest of your Monday set of Bears Bullets follows. Please enjoy. And take care of yourselves.
Because no one drops a teaser like the NFL, we began taking a look at the Chicago Bears list of scheduled opponents for the 2024 season. What game are you looking forward to the most? Anything on your radar that looks like a must-see game?
Brad Biggs (Tribune) seems to think a bunch of prime-time games are on the horizon for Chicago’s football team. Can you blame him? The Bears had two Thursday Night Football games, a Sunday Night Football showdown, and one Monday Night Football game last year — and that team was coming off a 3-win season. The 2023 Bears more than doubled their 2022 win total and added a quarterback with a magnetic personality with the first pick in last month’s NFL Draft. So, yeah, you can expect the Bears to be in prime television viewing windows often in 2024.
The 2024 Bears schedule includes six games against 2023 playoff teams (Packers and Lions twice, 49ers and Rams once each), seven games against quarterbacks taken in the first round in one of the last two drafts (Vikings twice, plus Panthers, Texans, Colts, Commanders, and Patriots), and one game in London. NFL networks are going to angling to get the Bears on as much as possible with that schedule.
Do you remember this Bears superfan from NFL Draft weekend…
… well, the Chicago Bears official website has a diary entry from him and his journey as the Bears’ International Fan of the Year. What a fun thing this turned out to be.
Eye on the enemy: Let’s keep an eye on what the Green Bay Packers do at left tackle. It sounds like first-round Jordan Morgan is getting the first crack at becoming David Bakhtiari’s long-term replacement. Morgan’s measurables aren’t the best, which is something the rookie acknowledges. But it’s not like he cares. “I get that a lot — the short arm stuff,” Morgan said, via USA Today’s Packers Wire. “It’s like you obviously haven’t watched film. I use them pretty well. I move people off the ball. I pass set really well, protect the quarterback. … That doesn’t bother me, though. I’m just gonna prove everybody wrong.” Suddenly, I’m looking forward to those matchups against Montez Sweat.
Over at Pro Football Talk, Mike Florio makes a pitch for St. Louis to get an NFL team based on the turnout for UFL games. I’m sure St. Louis Cardinals baseball fans would be thrilled to think about anything other than their 15-19 baseball team that currently resides in last place in the NL Central after losing two of three (at home!) to an 8-26 Chicago White Sox outfit.
If it wasn’t because I had a wonderful day and night out and about, I’d be upset about missing the Tom Brady roast. I have some catching up to do, to be sure. But I’m digging that Brady’s got jokes:
Shoot! For $20 million, I would’ve been Brady’s fall guy. Sheesh.

The Chicago Cubs took two of three from the Brewers in a series in which they didn’t throw Shōta Imanaga or Justin Steele. Maybe this team is good:
