The North Carolina Lottery Commission has approved a date for North Carolina sports betting! The state will launch on March 11 just before the March Madness basketball tournament that starts the following week.
North Carolina Sports Betting Goes Live March 11
Sportsbooks can go live online in North Carolina starting on March 11. North Carolina has finally announced a launch date after months of leaving bettors wondering when the state would officially go live with online betting. The North Carolina Lottery Commission voted Wednesday morning to finalize the date.
The state will miss out on the Super Bowl on February 11 but will brings betting to North Carolina residents for the March Madness basketball tournament which starts on March 19.
Sportsbooks to Launch on March 11
There are seven sportsbooks that applied for licenses before the December 27, 2023 deadline. These sportsbooks are the only operators who will be allowed to go live when the state launches on March 11. Here’s a look at the sportsbooks that will go live in North Carolina and what partnerships they have.

- DraftKings (NASCAR)
- ESPN Bet (Quail Hollow Club)
- Fanatics Sportsbooks (Carolina Hurricanes)
- bet365 (Charlotte Hornets)
- FanDuel (PGA Tour)
- Underdog Sports (McConnell Golf)

Underdog Sports Finds Partnership with McConnell Golf
Underdog Sports joined the other sports betting companies in the state that have partnerships by striking a deal with McConnell Golf. The fast-growing sports gaming platform will be working with McConnell Golf as it gains its sports betting license in the state.
Sedgefield Country Club is located in Greensboro and it hosts the PGA Tour’s Wyndham Championship. The club will be working with Underdog Sports to bring online betting to users in the state.
Conference Tournaments and March Madness
Bettors will be able to get off the ground running as the NCAA basketball conference tournaments begin the week of March 11 and the NCAA Tournament begins the following Tuesday on March 19. Selection Sunday is on March 17 this year.
The state of North Carolina will likely have multiple teams in March Madness including powerhouses like Duke and North Carolina. The NCAA Tournament will likely draw a lot of bets during the first couple of weeks that North Carolina sports betting is live.
After the NCAA Tournament, bettors can look forward to the MLB season as well as the NBA Playoffs as there will be plenty of big games to bet on for North Carolina bettors before next football season.
