A Blackhawks off-day gives us a chance to venture west on I-90 and check in on the Rockford IceHogs, who have fared much better than the Blackhawks on their opening weekend.
The IceHogs opened the season on Friday night with a dreadful 6-1 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins before winning a 5-3 contest with the Chicago Wolves on Saturday at the Allstate Arena. The IceHogs are 1-1-0-0 so far.
The Indy Fuel, the Blackhawks ECHL affiliate, kicks off their season on October 23, so they’ll be in the following farm report.
