In between games against the Minnesota Wild, the Chicago Blackhawks have made a number of roster moves today – most notably, placing Jujhar Khaira and Riley Stillman on injured reserve.
Roster moves this AM for the #Blackhawks:
• Khaira (lower back) on IR retroactive to Jan. 17
• Stillman (left shoulder) on IR
• Connolly called to active roster from non-roster
• Kalynuk, Morris recalled to taxi squad
• Hardman assigned to Rockfordhttps://t.co/6MQbBnJDxM— Carter Baum (@CarterBaum) January 22, 2022
According to interim head coach Derek King, Khaira has been dealing with back spasms and was out of the lineup last night. His placement on IR is retroactive to January 17.
Stillman left last night’s 5-1 loss for the Blackhawks in the third period after looking to injure his shoulder on a hit. Following the game, King said Stillman’s injury was an “old nagging injury” that was re-aggravated on the play.
Additionally today, the Blackhawks have moved Brett Connolly to the active roster. Connolly has skated in just four games this season for the Blackhawks, playing primarily in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs.
Rockford will see Mike Hardman return to their roster after being reassigned today, as well as having Cale Morris and Wyatt Kalynuk recalled to the Blackhawks’ Taxi Squad.
