On Thursday morning the Blackhawks made a predictable roster move before heading to New York and New Jersey for three games. Ian Mitchell was recalled from Rockford and Jarred Tinordi was placed on IR retroactive to Nov. 27.
Tinordi, 30, has never appeared in more than 28 NHL games in a regular season before in his career. But the former first round pick has already skated in 20 games for the Blackhawks since he was claimed off waivers from the Rangers. His 79 hits lead the Blackhawks and he’s also been credited with 31 blocked shots.
Mitchell has appeared in two games with the NHL club this season after returning from a wrist injury that cost him the month of October.
