Pre-Gamin’: Blackhawks vs Flames (6:00 PM CT) – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread, More

The Blackhawks play the fourth game of their new calendar year starting seven-game homestand this evening with the Calgary Flames in town. The Flames are 6-2-1 in their last nine after losing five in a row, so they’re working their way back in the playoff picture in the Western Conference. The Blackhawks are working on cementing the best odds possible of landing the top pick in the 2023 NHL Draft because Connor Bedard might be an alien made in a lab to dominate hockey games. Anyways, let’s get to the details for tonight’s event.

Injury Report

Chicago Blackhawks

Jarred TinordiJujhar Khaira and MacKenzie Entwistle are on IR. Patrick Kane is on a game-to-game basis right now with a hip issue and is confirmed out tonight as well.

Calgary Flames

Brett Ritchie and Oliver Kylington are on IR.

What to Watch For

  • Calgary is the definition of a “middle of the road” team. Since Dec. 1 they rank 19th in the league in goals for, eighth in goals against and 12th in team faceoff percentage. There’s nothing really overwhelming about this roster but there are some good players, especially summer additions Kadri, Weeger and Huberdeau.
  • With Patrick Kane confirmed out tonight, Lukas Reichel gets some more run in a top-six role. He was really good on Friday night, so we’ll see if he can score his first NHL goal tonight.
  • Alex Stalock gets another start. It looks like he’s the clear No. 1 on the depth chart now.
  • Get Caught Up
