If you haven’t heard, the Chicago Blackhawks won the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery and will draft one of the highest rated, most hyped prospects in history: Connor Bedard. So of course the organization is not only thrilled, but they’re also going to celebrate the big night with a party.
Or two.
On Thursday, the Blackhawks announced they’re hosting parties in both Chicago and Nashville on June 28 to celebrate the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
The team’s official draft party in Chicago will take place at The Salt Shed. And it’s FREE! Of course, capacity will dictate how many fans are actually able to take part. The shin dig begins at 2 PM and will run until 10, with the first selection announcement expected around 6 PM in Chicago. Fans do not need to purchase a ticket for the party, but you will need to download and open the Blackhawks mobile app to gain access.
UPDATE: To expedite entry into the event, fans are encouraged to claim a free ticket in advance to have pre-loaded in their Blackhawks App upon arrival. All fans must download the Chicago Blackhawks official mobile app and claim a ticket prior to entering The Salt Shed. QR codes will be available to assist in this process for walk-ins (first-come first-serve, until capacity is reached).
If you’re heading to Nashville for the historic night, the Blackhawks are also hosting a party at the Skydeck at Assembly Food Hall right on Broadway. That pre-party opens at 1 PM and runs until 6 and is also free and open to fans (subject to capacity, of course). Then there’s an after-party in the same location that runs from 8-12 PM that will require the purchase of a VIP ticket.
The team has indicated there will be alumni at both events and live music as well. In Chicago, there will be a customized Blackhawks drone light show.
