Blackhawks vs Jets – Lineups, Broadcast Info, Game Thread

Connor Bedard Chicago Blackhawks

The Christmas holiday break is over and the Blackhawks get to jump off the next few weeks of their schedule with a home date against the Jets. The road doesn’t get easier after this one; the Blackhawks’ next five games are on the road in Dallas (twice), Nashville, at the Rangers and Devils.

The Hawks went to their three-day break feeling pretty bad after allowing five unanswered goals in back-to-back games on back-to-back nights. The effort wasn’t great and the postgames weren’t fun. The good news is Chicago gets back one healthy body on the blue line and a forward. And the Jets are without one of the league’s most lethal scorers.

Injury Report

Chicago Blackhawks

  • Joey Anderson (left shoulder), Seth Jones (shoulder), Taylor Hall, and (still) Andreas Athanasiou on IR.
  • Winnipeg Jets

  • Kyle Connor, Rasmus Kupari and Declan Chisholm are on IR.
  • What to Watch For

  • The Blackhawks will apparently get Tyler Johnson and Vlasic back in the lineup tonight. So that’s great. We’ll see how that improves the team’s play after two ugly, brutal losses before Christmas.
  • The Jets were one of — if not the — hottest teams in the NHL before Christmas. They don’t have Kyle Connor tonight, however. We’ll see if that hurts their offense.
  • Reichel remains on the fourth line. As more players get healthy, one has to wonder how long the leash will be before he’s trading spots with Cole Guttman in the press box… or someone in Rockford.
  • Get Caught Up
