I Think Coby White Is Done with the Zion Questions and Other Bulls Bullets

We might get one step closer to finding out who’s worthy of the Bulls starting point guard gig tonight!

I’m still thinking/hoping it will be Sato.

  • Tonight might be a preseason game, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. The Bulls welcome in the Zion Williamson led New Orleans Pelicans for a battle of two up-and-coming squads. All we can hope is that both teams leave the starters out on the court for as long as they did in game one.
  • Zach LaVine and Lauri Markkanen both played 20+ minutes against the Milwaukee Bucks, while Coby White racked up a team-high 25 minutes of action. With Luke Kornet questionable to return tonight, we could see Markkanen’s minutes shorten up a bit (he filled in at center several times Monday night), but I don’t see why everything else can’t stay the same.
  • I know it’s preseason, and the organization would never admit this, but I definitely think this being a nationally televised game on ESPN is a reason to keep your top-talent on the floor a bit longer than normal. Especially when you factor in the Pelicans are one of the most talked-about, young NBA teams right now, you should have a bit of a chip on your shoulder.
  • Oh! This seems like a fitting time to bring this up. The Chicago Tribune is reminding us that the Bulls have only one nationally televised game this regular season. Yes, technically, the team does have three games on NBA TV as well, but we’re not counting that. TNT and ESPN are the big hitters, and neither are interested in showcasing the Bulls’ young talent. Sadly, this means the infamous TNT Bulls will be put on hold, while ESPN will feature the lone Bulls game on Jan. 17 when the team heads to Philly.
  • Bulls.com beat reporter Sam Smith hit us with an awesome preview of tonight’s matchup. Solid MJ talk in there, so give it a read.
  • Coby White was bombarded with Zion questions during yesterday’s media availability, and you can tell he’s so over it. Props to White for handling it in a very mature way, but I love the end where he says: “He’s big, he’s strong and he does what he does. I mean y’all see it. Y’all see it on TV. Y’all got it.”
  • So now, Coby’s obviously about to do this tonight.

  • I would like an updated version of one of these, please. I would also like to watch Coby White try and put it on over his hair.
  • Just stopping by to drop off some footage of an All-Star.

  • ICYMI, Steven Adams, Boban Marjanovic and, GET THIS, Ben Simmons all hit three-pointers yesterday. Was it a full moon or something? What is going on?
