Originally set to air in June of this year, NBA fans (and really sports fans in general) started calling for the network to release the documentary early after practically the entire sports world went dark. Now, the New York Post is reporting that tomorrow on Good Morning America an announcement about an April 19th start date will be made (though, it’s important to note that ESPN has not confirmed this report just yet).
At first, it didn’t seem like we were all going to get our wish. ESPN’s Executive Vice President of Programming and Scheduling Burke Magnus came forward to say the series wasn’t ready to air earlier this month, but I guess the network turned on the jets and got that puppy ready to roll!
The pleas for an early release have only gotten stronger as the sports-less days go by, with LeBron James even chiming in the other day. In general, athletes and fans alike have been longing for this content.

I know it may not be the live action we’re all craving, but by moving the release ahead, ESPN has saved almost all of ya quarantined sports fans from losing our collective mind. I’M SO PUMPED. LET’S GOOOO!
