According to the NBA’s Official Injury Report, Zach LaVine is questionable for tonight’s meeting with the Toronto Raptors.
LaVine, who shockingly played in three games in four days, is listed under the same “injury management” designation we’ve seen several times this season. While the All-Star guard confessed that he’s still working his way back to full strength after the Bulls’ battle with the Celtics on ESPN, he also made clear that he’s trending in the right direction. Now, whether or not that means we can expect his rest days to officially go away any time soon is unclear. If one thing is for sure, I’d still prefer the team to proceed with caution during the early stages of this season.
The injury report also lists both Andre Drummond and Coby White as out … again. Drummond’s shoulder injury will now have caused him to miss five games, while White’s quad contusion will have him off the court for his fourth-consecutive game. A big reason the Bulls bench started as one of the best in the league is because of what these two bring to the floor. White’s 3-point shooting is a real asset on a team with so few true downtown threats, and we all know how crucial Drummond’s rebounding is to a team that ranked dead last in OREB% last season.
Considering this is a back-to-back set, I find it a bit hard to believe that either will be ready for tomorrow’s contest either, especially after Donovan suggested both were still dealing with pain earlier this week:
