The Chicago Bulls didn’t play on Tuesday, but they still picked up a win.
Alex Caruso, Javonte Green, and Benny the Bull showed up to surprise local kid Ben Krueger at his basketball practice. The Niles 10-year-old suffered a seizure in December which caused him to be hospitalized for 11 days. Krueger had previously experienced a stroke and seizure when he was just 5 months old, which left him dealing with long-term weakness on his left side, per the Chicago Tribune.
A hardcore Bulls fan, the organization went out of its way to give Krueger the surprise of a lifetime. And this didn’t just include stopping by to cheer him at practice. The team invited Krueger and his family on an upcoming road trip to their game in Philadelphia on March 20. According to the Tribune, he’ll even get to fly on the team plane for the all-expenses-paid journey.
ABC 7 in Chicago did a great job documenting the Bulls’ surprise. You can watch that video here or below. Also, make sure to also read the Tribune’s piece for some thoughts from Krueger’s family.
What an awesome story!
