2024 NBA Draft: Which Big Names Have Already Declared?

Zach Edey and Donovan Clingan

The 2024 NBA Draft is fast approaching! We’re just about two months away from the NBA’s premier offseason event. While we don’t quite know the order of the teams selecting yet, we’re starting to get commitments on who will be a part of June’s NBA Draft. The class itself isn’t seen as the strongest in recent years, but that doesn’t mean a few players can’t surprise and be franchise changers.

There is still time for players to enter the 2024 NBA Draft, but time is running out. Prospective entries must be declared for the Draft no later than 60 days before the event. This year’s NBA Draft takes play on both June 26th and June 27th (as part of a new two-day event), which means prospects have less than four days to make their choice.

The NBA offers flexibility for players to withdraw from the draft. They have until June 16th, before the draft itself on June 26th. However, for college players hoping to return to school, the NCAA has a stricter deadline. They must pull out of the draft by May 29th to keep their college eligibility.

The Bulls, in all likelihood, will pick in the back end of the lottery. Given the unpredictability of this draft order, at this point, it’s a little difficult to narrow down a favorite for them to land. Last year with Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and Brandon Miller the beginning of the draft order was pretty set. This year, I think we’ll see a lot of names bounce up and down in the first round.

Personally, I would love to see them land Stephon Castle from UConn. But, with his NCAA Tournament performance and how versatile of a skillset he has, I think he’ll eventually climb out of the Bulls’ reach unless they get some lottery luck.

Anyway, let’s take a look at some of the notable names that have already officially entered themselves into the 2024 NBA Draft. Again, most of these players can still pull out, but I think it’s safe to say the chances of them doing that are very slim.
