Well, sir. That was just a beat down.
It’s hard to see or understand Jake Arrieta getting blasted like that, but Coors Field and that Rockies lineup can be cruel beasts. There’s a reason they, as a team, have an OPS near .900 at home. Think about that.
There were good things in the game, if you’d care to hear them: Chris Coghlan continues to be insanely good this year, Javier Baez looked good in the field and didn’t strike out, Arismendy Alcantara drilled a beautiful homer, and Kyuji Fujikawa looked all right in his long-awaited return to the mound.
But otherwise, yeah, this game sucked.
