The Cubs go for the kinda-sorta doubleheader sweep after beating the White Sox earlier today. Tonight, it’s the Dodgers in Glendale. But it won’t be scheduled starter Alex Wood, who was scratched with a forearm issue (about that Dodgers depth). Brandon Beachy will take his place against the Cubs.
For the Cubs, it’s Trevor Cahill getting another start, as he stretches out, even if the expectation is that he’ll start the season in the bullpen.
Nice to see some of the youngsters getting starts in this one, plus a bunch of regulars up top. It’s kind of silly that, on a split squad day, the Cubs can run out a lineup that looks this good after the other half of the team ran up a 9-spot earlier today.
Today’s game is being broadcast by the Dodgers, which means you can see it on MLB.tv. Alternatively, you can listen at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
