Earlier today, Major League Baseball released its list of the top 20 selling MLB Jerseys, and, as the title suggests … the Cubs were among the very most popular.
As a matter of fact, four members of the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs – Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Javier Baez, and Kyle Schwarber – ranked in the top five throughout the entire league. Yeah. Only Clayton Kershaw – arguably the best pitcher of the generation – broke up top four sweep.

- Kris Bryant, Chicago Cubs
- Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs
- Clayton Kershaw, Los Angeles Dodgers
- Javier Baez, Chicago Cubs
- Kyle Schwarber, ChicagoCubs
- Noah Syndergaard, New York Mets
- Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers
- Buster Posey, San Francisco Giants
- Gary Sanchez, New York Yankees
- Mike Trout, Los Angeles Angels
- Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals
- Madison Bumgarner, San Francisco Giants
- Yoenis Cespedes, New York Mets
- Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox
- Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals
- Francisco Lindor, Cleveland Indians
- Freddie Freeman, Atlanta Braves
- Dustin Pedroia, Boston Red Sox
- Jose Altuve, Houston Astros
- Josh Donaldson, Toronto Blue Jays
S0 looking at these rankings, Rizzo and Bryant make a ton of sense at the top, given that they are essentially the Cubs unofficial leaders and best players (both are perennial MVP candidates, and Bryant has obviously already won one). They are also a public face for MLB, starring in the Bryzzo Souvenir Company spots – including a new clip released today:

They are also coming off a World Series win, wherein they were the final two pieces of the play that ended the drought:

Schwarber and Baez, however, stand out less on the national stage (which makes their presence at the top of the jersey sales all the more impressive).

Both have amazing stories, both are fan favorites, and both did a lot to help the Cubs get over the hump, but neither have played nearly as much as the superstars behind them on the list. Schwarber, in particular, has STILL not hit the 100 game mark for his career, and Javy Baez doesn’t really have a starting job on the team right.
Clearly, winning and being crazy-fun to watch matters quite a bit.
All together, those four Chicago Cubs lead an impressive list of Most Valuable Players, Cy Young winners, World Series champions, All-Stars and everything in between – including one of the best players of all-time, Mike Trout. The Cubs are still very popular.
