Now *THAT’S* How You Pitch with a Lead: Bartolo Colon Once Threw 38-Consecutive Strikes

Although I know the answer to the following question, I’ll ask it anyway: Have you ever wanted to pull your hair out when the pitcher on your favorite team is throwing ball, after ball, after ball … despite pitching with a lead?

Of course you have! It happens all the time.

You just want to reach through your tv screen, grab him by the collar (unless it’s like Jake Arrieta or Madison Bumgarner or someone scary), and yell “JUST THROW STRIKES, DUDE!”

Well, the one-and-only Bartolo Colon got that message once, because back in 2012, pitching with a 3-0 lead, he fired off 38 strikes in a row …

… And it probably should’ve been 39.

Now *THAT’S* how you pitch with a lead.
