Oh, hey, a rubber match following a coin-flip game against a team the Cubs are supposed to be much better than. That’s new.
Kyle Hendricks is taking the mound for the Cubs today, following a a really great start in Los Angeles (7.0 IP, 7H, 1ER, 1BB, 6Ks) and a very misleading game in Pittsburgh, if all you saw was the box score: 5.0 IP, 9H, 6R, 4ER, 1BB, 3K.
If you remember back, that game was loaded with a ton of soft contact, some untimely errors, and really bad sequencing. And in reality, Hendricks more or less did exactly what you’d want of him. And I think he’s probably in a good place mechanically.
