It was definitely the first thing I wanted to do this morning when I got up: re-enjoy yesterday’s win. You rarely get a huge moment (like the re-fully-opening of Wrigley Field), and you also rarely get a big comeback win (much less against a hated rival), so when the two things come together to make for a perfect day … you just have to savor it for as long as the flavor lasts.
The Cubs went down early by four, and it sure seemed like the game might be toast on an otherwise nice day back at Wrigley Field. Then the magic started happening, with guys working great at bats, others timing some clutch hits, Yadi Molina dropping a pitch and throwing a ball away, Anthony Rizzo grinding the longest homer-ending at bat in recent Cubs history, Joc Pederson taking the lead, and Willson Contreras and Craig Kimbrel capping things off.
