Tonight, the Chicago Cubs will host the Tampa Bay Rays for the finale at Wrigley Field.
The Rays are throwing right-hander Drew Rasmussen (average fastball: 96 MPH). And the Cubs will counter with Marcus Stroman, who’s looking to bounce back from a pretty rough outing against the Rockies: 4.0 IP, 6H, 5ER, 4BB, 7Ks. That one had wildness, hard hit balls, plenty of contact, and too many runs. Hopefully, we can chalk it up to Coors Field and move forward with a nice clean start tonight.
Indeed, that’s especially important because the two usual long-men, Jesse Chavez and Keegan Thompson, should both be unavailable tonight. By contrast, the Cubs should have Rowan Wick, Mychal Givens, and David Robertson available for the 7th, 8th, and 9th, respectively.
