MVP Awards: Ohtani and Acuña Win Unanimously, Two Cubs Receive Down-the-Ballot Votes

For the first time in MLB history, each of the winners of the Most Valuable Player Awards did so unanimously.

Kinda crazy it’s never happened before.

Congrats to Ronald Acuña Jr. on a bonkers offensive season – he was certainly deeply frustrating to face for the Cubs down the stretch, including his MONTAGE-INDUCING 70th stolen base.

And congrats to Shohei Ohtani for winning MVP honors unanimously for the second time. Never been done before.

Ohtani does a lot of things that have never been done before, which is why he is also the most anticipated free agent ever.

As for the Cubs, Cody Bellinger finished 10th in the voting with a smattering of down-the-ballot votes, while Dansby Swanson also picked up two 10th place votes to finish 21st:
