Cody Bellinger has been swinging a really nice bat lately, and that continued in the top of the first inning tonight at Wrigley Field (and of course he homered on 4/20…easiest call ever).
Check out his fourth homer of the season, and second in the last three games.
Before his current six-game hitting streak was extended tonight with that homer, Bellinger had a pretty ugly slash line on the year: .167/.270/.296 (50 wRC+). But right now, after that homer, he’s up to .227/.314/.427 (95 wRC+) with a 10.5% walk rate and a 15.1% strikeout rate. It was only a matter of time before he got going, and you have to love what you’re seeing.
